- APPLE UK AND ACORN TO MARKET EDUCATIONAL IT

- Apple UK and Acorn are setting up a new, jointly owned company to market
- educational IT packages to UK schools. The deal could spell the end for
- Acorns proprietry educational computers, based on the ARM processor, and its
- Rom based RISCOS operating system. The new company says it will adopt the
- PowerPC and MacOS an the main platform for schools IT, although this could
- involve the development of a RiscPC with ARM, PC and PowerPC processors.
